Catastrophic news: Villa Kitty on the brink of collapse
Literally, physical collapse.
Bali’s recent and enduring torrential rain is wreaking havoc across the island and once again, those with the least power and fewest resources are suffering devastating hardships. At Villa Kitty, we have experienced terrifying landslides and extreme slippage, to the extent that several of our buildings are imperilled and one is close to subsiding into the terrain. Villa Kitty’s Nursery is at immediate risk and we may shortly have to relocate all the kittens from their purpose built shelter and disperse them through the rooms in order to preserve lives, both feline and those of our dedicated team.
This is real. Do not doubt that we are wracked with fear for the very continuance of our Foundation.
There is one, and only one, solution to this situation. We must build massive supporting and restraining structures. Relevant engineers and builders have been consulted, with experience in this very problem. It can be done. It must be done and done without delay. It will be costly: the task is mammoth and access extraordinarily difficult and dangerous. To preserve Villa Kitty and its lifesaving work, an eye watering amount of money must be raised.
You, our donors and supporters, are our only hope. There is no agency to whom we can apply, no grant that will deliver funding, no government who will come to our aid.
This is a threat to the survival of Villa Kitty and to the lives of countless thousands of cats and kittens now and into the future. Don’t let our years of struggle and achievement dissolve and disappear in the rain. Any donation will help. Together, let’s build the Great Wall of Villa Kitty.
